Pigments, mediums and water interact in numerous ways depending on how they are laid down, left to dry or manipulated - chemistry, physics, chance and intervention each play their part. The varying layers, opaque and transparent, sometimes over 30 in number, obscure the sequence.  Origins become lost and the results resemble geological and biological processes.     Working with objects, themselves having their own origin stories, the process has new surfaces and concepts to push against and explore. For instance it is almost impossible to disrupt the concept of a chair as it is made a site for art. But it is the impossibility of life, also, that I am thinking about - life, that turned inanimate matter into living matter, and then into thinking matter.     The objects themselves open up the possibility of narrative stories depending on how they are arranged and with each exhibition they are used differently.
